The traditional Australian stock whip is made with 12-plait kangaroo hide on a cane handle. This is the whip carried by Australian drovers and “ringers”, or what Americans would call cowboys. The 12-plait section is 6 feet in length, and the cane handle is 22 inches from the Turk’s head, to the knot that connects the handle to the thong. The fall on all our kangaroo hide whips is made from tough white hide.
