The Monkey Grip is a handy handle when everything "goes South" and you need to grab something. Shelve your ego and Grab the Monkey! Traditional in Australia where horns are rare: We toss cattle by hand in the bush, we don't rope 'em!  The grips are of heavy plaited leather to match either the seat of the saddle, or the flaps.
