TANDEM BAREBACK SADDLE

from $2,595.00

THE TANDEM BAREBACK SADDLE is a ride built for two. It is ideal for an adult in the front, and a kid riding pillion in the back. The saddle is center fire rigged for the front cinch and has an additional back cinch for stability. Extra long plates make sure the pressure of the riders is evenly distributed across the back of the horse. Standard colors are black and off white. This saddle shown was built on mushroom sheepskin. Add $100 for custom colors.

The saddle comes complete with two sets of stirrups, double girthing system, a breastplate that attaches at five-points, and sheepskin protector sleeves for both sets of English leathers. There are hold handles on either side of the main cantle. The underside is pure wool felt, high density.

Mara Somma is in sales for The Australian Stock Saddle Company,  but she is also on a horse testing saddles every day when she is not selling saddles. Here she takes a friend for a ride on a tandem bareback saddle at Colin Dangaard's Ranch in Malibu, California. This is a saddle built for TWO !!

Horses love it, kids love it — and so does mom!

It is the first of its kind built in the world — designed by Colin Dangaard

An enthusiastic review by Mara : “BRILLIANT is the word that describes Colin Dangaard’s tandem bareback saddle! He has mastered the concept of comfort and close contact riding for both riders and horse.
You now can pack along a child safely and in comfort. My riders age 7 were as happy to be riding tandem as if on their own horse. The double set of stirrups and back stabilizing seat provided enough stability for the boys that we were able to take any trail safely.”
