Bjørn, a two-year-old Norwegian Fjord, wearing a Colin Dangaard Bareback Saddle. The saddle is comfortable, sturdy, and molds beautifully to the back of any size or shape of horse. It’s perfect for riding in steep mountains on the round, flat back of a Norwegian Fjord. It’s wonderful to finally have a saddle that really takes into account the comfort of the horse.

There will never be enough wide-open country for me. Enough land free of fences and roads; places where one can really get good and lost, enough to actually find yourself out there in the brambles and darkness of an unlit sky at night. ⠀⠀ We don’t put enough value on freedom in my estimation. Not freedom to have this, or freedom to say that... but real, gritty, knuckle-down freedom. Freedom to explore, to get lost, hurt, hungry, and even die. That’s the kind of freedom that makes you know you’re alive and shows you that beauty lies in every step you take on the perilous and often uncomfortable journey of life. ⠀ It’s what makes you give a shit about the land, the creatures that habitate this planet with us, and consider what part of yourself is worthy of being left behind. Bones and blood is all that’s left of all of us in the end. We all have skin in the game. Be bolder than you are meek, braver than you are scared, kinder than you are mean. Don’t let freedom slip through your fingers in exchange for corrals and barbed wire fences.⠀ ⠀⠀ -Iris Gardner
