Our ENGLISH LEATHERS are made of solid cowhide and are 65” in length, with a width of 1 3/8”. They have solid brass buckles for brown leather, or chrome with stainless steel tongue for black leather. They also come with a sleeve. The Australian style of hanging leathers from either English saddles or Aussie saddles is to place the buckle down against the stirrup, with the buckle to the inside against the horse. This way the buckle does not rub against your shin. Of course, if it is placed as they are with traditional English saddles, up against the stirrup suspension bar, they create a bump under the thigh. The sleeve supplied is finally slid down over the buckle when the leather has been fitted to the stirrup and is hanging in place on the saddle.
